Who we are
ScoreOff is a football prediction game made by ScoreOff (the "app"). This policy explains what we collect, why, where it lives, and what you can do about it. Questions: hello@scoreoff.app.
Your account
When you first use ScoreOff the app creates an anonymous account for you on our server. It has a random identifier and no name, email or password. This is what lets you join a league with mates and see the same scores as them.
You can save that account by signing in with Apple or Google. We then also hold the email address (or Apple relay address) and name those services give us, so you can get your leagues back on a new phone. We never see or store your Apple or Google password.
Anonymous accounts that have never joined a league and have not been used for 60 days are deleted automatically.
What we store
On our server: your display name, country, the club you support, clubs you have tagged, your predictions, Score Boosts, Golden Boot picks, the leagues you belong to, who invited you to each league, reactions you leave on mates’ predictions, nudges you send, a weekly snapshot of your world ranking, and a device token if you allow notifications.
If you buy something: which product, when, the store it came from, the price, and the store’s transaction reference. We never see your card or your store account details; the App Store or Google Play handles payment.
On your phone only: your settings, Banter Mode preference, challenges, and a copy of the above so the app works offline.
Our server is hosted by Supabase in London, United Kingdom. Fixtures and results come from football-data.org; our server fetches them, your phone never contacts the provider directly. Purchases are confirmed to us by RevenueCat (USA, under standard contractual clauses), which receives an anonymous player id and the store receipt, nothing else about you.
Who can see what
Members of a league you are in can see your display name, your club, your points, and your predictions once each match has kicked off (never before). Nobody outside your leagues can see your predictions.
World rankings show display names, countries and points only.
The ScoreOff administrator can see aggregate numbers (how many players, leagues and predictions there are) and, for support, the same information a league mate can see.
Notifications
If you allow notifications we store a token for your device so our server can send you goal alerts, full-time results, kick-off reminders, nudges from league mates and the occasional message about the game. Turn them off in your phone’s settings or in Profile at any time; the token is removed when you delete your data.
Analytics and crash reports
To learn how the app is used and to fix crashes we may use PostHog (analytics) and Sentry (crash reporting), hosted in the EU. They receive an anonymous install identifier, the screens you visit, which features you use, your device model and operating system, and technical details of any crash.
They do not receive your name, your club, your predictions, or anything you type. We do not sell data and we do not use advertising trackers.
Sharing
Share cards, invite links and challenges are created on your device and handed to the app you choose (WhatsApp, Messages and so on). We never post anywhere on your behalf.
Age
ScoreOff is for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, please do not use the app. ScoreOff contains no gambling and no paid-entry prizes.
Your rights and your data
"Download my data" in Profile gives you a file with everything ScoreOff holds about you, on the spot. "Delete my data" removes your account and everything attached to it from our server, and clears the app on your phone. It is immediate and cannot be undone. Purchase records are kept for six years for tax purposes, with your player id only.
You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@scoreoff.app. We answer within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
The legal basis for processing is the contract with you to provide the game, and our legitimate interest in keeping it working and fair.
Changes
We will update this policy as ScoreOff grows. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. Last updated 18 September 2026.
